Pinnacles National Park Camping & Hiking Weekend
Pinnacles Campground Oct 16–18, 2026 Up to 12 people
Trip overview
Pinnacles National Park is located east of the Salinas Valley in Central California. The park encompasses 26,000 acres of spectacular rock formations that are remnants of a 23 million-year-old volcano. There are 30 miles of hiking trails to explore.
We'll arrive on Friday, set up camp, and get to know each other around the campfire with your drink of choice. On Saturday, we'll plan to do the Condor Gulch Trail to High Peaks Trail Loop, which is a 5.4-mile loop that features a lake and is rated as difficult. This is the #1 rated hike in Central California!
Also located within the park are caves that are home to a large colony of Townsend's big-eared bats. We'll be able to explore the caves as long as the hibernating colony of bats shows no signs of disturbance.
For dinner on Saturday, we'll have a fun potluck dinner. Please bring something to share if you'd like to participate. There is a signup link on this trip page.
